Product Updates: Week 9
This week brings one of our biggest updates yet: a centralized showing availability audit that gives you a single view to diagnose and fix availability issues across your entire portfolio. We're also improving location verification with a better mapping provider, bringing the complete notes and follow-ups system to mobile, introducing new notification options, and making Command Center faster.
Here's what's new in RentEngine.
Showing Availability Audit
When properties aren't showing availability to prospects, figuring out why has traditionally required checking multiple places: agent calendars, blocked times, property settings, showing windows, drive time conflicts, and more. You'd need to navigate through different sections of the platform, check multiple calendars, and piece together what's blocking availability.
This new audit tool consolidates everything into one place, eliminating the detective work.
How it works:
Portfolio Overview
See all your properties with their availability status flagged at a glance. Properties with no availability or low availability (fewer than 5 slots in the next week) are highlighted in red or orange, making it immediately obvious which properties need attention.
This bird's-eye view lets you quickly scan your entire portfolio and prioritize which availability issues to address first.
Where to find it: Settings > Showings > Availability Audit
Property-Level Calendar
Click into any property from the Properties tab by selecting "Take Action" next to the property and choosing "View Availability Audit." You'll see a detailed calendar view showing available and unavailable time slots.
One-Click Diagnostics and Fixes
Here's where the tool becomes particularly powerful: click any unavailable time slot and the system tells you exactly why it's unavailable with a button to fix it immediately.
The system identifies the specific reason and takes you directly to the right place to resolve it:
Blocked time → Takes you to blocked times settings
Outside property-level availability → Opens property editing page
No agents available → Goes to personal showing settings
Move-in date restrictions → Opens property editing flow
Property on hold → Takes you to properties tab
Drive time conflicts → Opens showing calendar
Another showing scheduled → Opens showing calendar
Minimum notice period → Goes to company showing settings
Integrated Availability Alerts
The "no availability" email notification now sends you directly to this audit page. When you get an alert that properties aren't showing availability, you can jump straight to the diagnostic tool and resolve the issue in minutes instead of investigating across multiple pages.
Everything you need to diagnose and fix availability issues is consolidated in one place!

New Notification Options
You now have email and push notification options for:
New leads created: Get notified immediately when a new prospect enters your pipeline.
New text messages received: Get email notifications when prospects send text messages.
Important: These notifications are opt-in for existing users. They won't turn on automatically, you'll need to enable them in your notification settings if you want to receive them.
Where to find it: Settings > Communication > Notifications
Better Mapping Provider
We've switched to a better mapping provider to fix location verification issues, particularly for new construction properties.
The background:
We use third-party mapping software to convert addresses into physical coordinates. This is how we verify prospect locations during self-guided showings—the system checks whether the prospect is actually at the property before providing lockbox codes.
The fix:
By switching to a new mapping provider, location verification is significantly more accurate across the board.
If you've experienced location verification issues in the past (prospects unable to start showings despite being at the property, or complaints about incorrect location errors) this update should resolve them.
Notes & Follow-Ups in Mobile App
The Command Center's complete notes and follow-ups system is now available in the mobile app.
What you can do:
View all notes on prospects, including historical notes from past interactions
Add new notes from your phone after showings, calls, or any prospect interaction
View upcoming follow-ups across your entire pipeline
Set new follow-up reminders with custom dates and times
Mark follow-ups as complete when you've taken action
This brings the full Command Center notes infrastructure to mobile.

Intercom Chat Support
We've switched to Intercom for chat support and the chat widget will look slightly different. Same great support team answering your questions, just with a slightly updated UI and improved functionality on the backend.
Command Center Improvements
We've made several improvements to Command Center performance and phone functionality.
Faster Command Center
We've improved how the Command Center loads and how messages appear in conversations. The interface should feel noticeably faster when navigating between prospects and loading conversation history.
Phone Tree Update for Global Forwarding
If you use our global forwarding number option (where calls go directly to your office line instead of routing through RentEngine's system) you can now configure it to give callers an option to receive the scheduling link before connecting.
How it works now:
Callers hear a menu when they dial your forwarding number:
Press 1: Receive the scheduling link via text
Press 2: Connect directly to your office line
This maintains the flexibility of direct office connection while still offering the automated scheduling option that handles a significant portion of showing requests without requiring phone time.
