In case you missed it: we launched new updates to Fraud Guard.
Product Updates: Week 28
Market Tool now does the filtering for you. Open a property that is active in RentEngine and the tool sets beds, baths, square footage, amenities, property type, and search radius from what we already know about the unit. The comp set you see first matches the one you would have built yourself.
On the fraud side, we introduced even more measures to protect your listings from scammers, including configurable watermark settings.
Here’s what’s new in RentEngine.
Market Tool
“Recommended” View
Open a property that is active in RentEngine and Market Tool now sets the filters for you, based on the data we already hold on that unit:
Same number of beds and baths
Square footage within 200 of the subject unit, including listings where square footage is blank
Pool, parking, laundry, and furnished matched to the subject unit
Property type — rental communities are included when the subject unit sits in a multifamily building with 50 or more units, and excluded otherwise
Search radius auto-adjusted to keep the comp set at 45 results or fewer
If you adjust the filters or exclude listings, those changes save and load next time. The Recommended view is available on properties that are active in RentEngine, where there is enough information to seed the filters.
Pricing and Supply-Demand in the Property Performance report
The Property Performance report picks up two new columns: Pricing, with chips reading "Overpriced", "Underpriced", or "Stable"; and Supply-Demand, with chips reading "Oversupplied", "Undersupplied", or "Stable". Both draw their numbers from the Recommended view of the Market Tool for that property, or from your saved version if you have adjusted the report. Clicking either column opens the property in Market Tool with the Recommended view applied.
The underlying pricing and supply data recalculates every 7 days, on a price change, or when you update the report — whichever happened most recently.
Where to find it: Intelligence > Property Performance > Toggle the columns on or off.

Configurable watermarks
Watermark settings are now configurable on your listing photos. Choose your watermark coverage in Settings > Coverage. A live preview shows exactly how the watermark will appear on processed photos before you save.
This update prevents your images being used on fraudulent listings by making it harder to edit out the watermarks.
Showings
Change a showing type after the showing is already on the calendar
Showing type can now be changed on a showing that is already scheduled. Open the showing from the Showings Calendar, change the Showing Method between Self Guided and Accompanied, and RentEngine handles the rest behind the scenes. The showing is cancelled and rescheduled without sending the prospect a new set of messages, so the change is invisible to them.
The logic holds regardless of when you make the change. A prospect switched to self-guided still receives their access link. A prospect who needs to confirm still receives their confirmation messages. The change works 5 days before a showing or 5 minutes before it.
Prospects and property managers now get a 5-minute warning before a showing auto-cancels
When a prospect has not confirmed a showing and auto-cancel is approaching, two things now happen 5 minutes out. The prospect receives a text reminding them to confirm: "Heads up, please click the link to confirm your showing in the next five minutes or it may be cancelled." The property manager receives a push notification reading "Unconfirmed Showing — will be auto-canceled in 5 minutes if not confirmed", which opens that prospect in the Command Center when tapped.
If auto-cancel is set to 0 minutes, the warning does not fire.
Set your own delay on the application sent after a showing completes
The delay on the application that sends after a showing is completed is now configurable, from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 24 hours. The setting is disabled if you have turned off the option to send an application after a showing completes.
Where to find it: Settings > Showings > Company > Send application delay (minutes).
Customize the message that sends when your team reschedules a showing
The message that goes out when a team member reschedules a showing is now editable, so it can carry your own wording rather than the RentEngine default. The showing_url variable inserts the rescheduling link.
Where to find it: Settings > Communication > Messages.
Rental applications
Applicants living with family can now complete their housing history without references or rent
The housing history dropdown is now labelled "Type" and includes "Living with family" as an option. When an applicant selects it, the reference and rent amount fields are hidden, since neither applies.

Mark approved applicants as moved in to clear them out of your active list
Approved applications can now be marked as "Moved In" via the “Take Action”-button, which updates both the application status and the prospect status. This clears applicants who have become tenants out of your active list, so what remains is the people you are still working with on other properties.
Command Center
Current tenants of occupied properties are now searchable in the Command Center
Showing settings now accept a name for each current tenant, and those tenants appear in the Command Center — searchable by name, phone number, or address. A blue Tenant tag sits next to their name so they are easy to tell apart from prospects at a glance. If a tenant later becomes a prospect, their outbound showing messages stay in place.[IMAGE: Screenshot_2026-07-15_at_14_22_16.png]

Mobile app
Put a property on hold or make it available from the phone app
The Properties tab in the phone app now has a full-width button under the lockbox button for changing a property's status. It reads "Mark as Available" or "Mark as On Hold" depending on the current state, with a confirmation step before the change applies.
Lockboxes
Trusted Contacts
Adding a Trusted Contact now sends them a welcome text from your lockbox number. The message names the company that added them and explains how to pull a lockbox code whenever they need one.
To get a code, the contact texts the lockbox serial number to the number the welcome message came from, and the code comes back. To get a SentriLock shackle code instead, they add "-s" to the end of that serial number.

Reporting
Leasing Reports
Unit images in leasing reports were being reduced too far and rendering poorly. Image quality has been improved so units look the way they should when owners open the report.
General
A reminder to pick a subteam before you finish activating a property
Teams using subteams now get a reminder on the property activation page if a subteam has not been chosen. Properties left unassigned cause reporting and notification gaps, so the reminder catches it at the point where it matters.
Faster refresh
Switching accounts from the bottom left now reloads the page automatically, so whatever you have open — Command Center, Intelligence, a property list — reflects the account you switched into. Teams that use multiple RentEngine accounts should feel the difference immediately.
