Product Updates: Week 5
This week we’re bring you a marketing attribution update with UTM tracking for listing widgets. This shows you exactly which campaigns drive your highest-converting leads. We're also making it easier to manage showing history with the ability to mark past showings with the correct status, and we've added PointCentral to our smart lock integrations.
Here's what's new in RentEngine.
UTM Tracking for Lead Attribution
You now have accurate lead attribution with UTM tracking for your RentEngine listing widgets.
Our Q4 Leasing Data & Trends Report revealed that organic website leads convert at 2.0x higher rates to completed showings and 1.6x higher rates to applications compared to syndication leads. Until now, these all showed up as generic "website" leads, making it impossible to optimize your marketing spend.
With accurate UTM tracking, you can now identify which specific campaigns and channels are driving these high-converting website leads.
How it works:
When someone clicks to your website from a source with UTM parameters (paid ads, email campaigns, social media posts), those tags now pass through to RentEngine when they book a showing. Instead of every lead showing up as "website," you'll see the actual source (like "facebook_ad" or "email_newsletter") giving you accurate attribution for what's actually driving showing requests and transforming how you track marketing ROI.
How to set it up:
You'll need to use the updated version of the listing widget. Head to your company settings page, find the listing widget builder, and make sure the UTM field is left blank.
When blank, RentEngine automatically captures the UTM tag from whatever source sent traffic to your website
If no UTM tag is present, it defaults to "website widget"
Where to find it: Settings > Company > Listing Widget Builder

Modify Past Showings
One of our most requested features is here: you can now update the status or showing feedback of any past showing that wasn't properly closed out.
What you can do:
From any showing event in the Command Center, click the pencil icon to:
Mark an unmarked showing as completed, missed, or failed
Change a missed/failed showing to completed and add feedback, or reschedule it
Add showing feedback to a Completed showing
This makes it easy to clean up your showing history when agents forgot to mark showings in the app or when status updates fell through the cracks. Instead of having incomplete or inaccurate showing records, you can now correct them after the fact and maintain accurate reporting.
Important note: This updates the showing timestamp to the current time, so it's best used for same-day corrections rather than editing historical data from weeks ago.
Where to find it: Command Center > Click any showing event in a prospect > Pencil icon
PointCentral Integration
We've added another smart lock integration to your toolkit. You can now connect PointCentral to RentEngine to power seamless self-guided showings with automated access code generation.
💡
PointCentral joins our existing smart lock integrations along with SentriLock, Codebox, Igloo, and eRentalLocks.
How to set it up:
Create an administrator login in your PointCentral Property Manager Portal
Connect it to RentEngine through the Lockboxes tab
Map each unit to its corresponding PointCentral device when editing a property
Once connected, RentEngine will automatically generate access codes for self-guided showings on properties with PointCentral devices.
Where to find it: Lockboxes tab > Add PointCentral integration
Showing Management Updates
We've made two improvements to how showing assignments and conflicts are handled.
Improved Showing Reassignments
When reassigning a showing, the system now checks the new agent's availability and alerts you if the time isn't available for them. This functionality now works in both the web platform and mobile app.
Showing Request Conflict Prevention
For showings that require PM approval, the system now prevents the same agent from having two showing requests at the same time. If an agent has a pending request for 12 p.m. at Property A, they won't receive another request for 12 p.m. at Property B—preventing double-booking before showings are even confirmed.
Mobile App Updates
ICYMI: You can now send photos, documents, or videos directly in the Command Center. And this feature is now also available on the mobile app.
Keep all prospect communication (text, images, and files) in one place without switching to your phone's native messaging app or email.
